Last Minute Gift Guide

I LOVE giving gifts. Even though this year I have only bought one, I have spent the past couple weeks (or months) putting together bookmarks of my most sought after gifts, for others. Here's a what I put together for everyone from your bosses to your brother. Take a look, and be sure to check out the Subscription options, these gifts can be bought the day of Christmas! Nothing is easier than that.

Bosses- What's a better gift than something fun and delicious for your coworkers? Finding the right gift for your bosses is insanely difficult so stick to something savory and homemade. These Chocolate Spider Cookies made with Chow Mein noodles are a classic, I used to make these with my neighbors as a kid and I've never forgotten about them.
gifts for mom, anthropologie

Mom - She will love wrapping up in this  Anthropology Shawl. It can be worn all Christmas morning as she drinks her coffee, then can be thrown over something dressier for dinner.  Then gift her something handmade like this DIY Brown Sugar scrub. Try a sugar scrub with olive oil, I made this last winter and it did wonders for my dry skin! Plus all of the ingriedents are probably in your pantry already! I didn't even add a scent because I have sensitive skin but if you stop by a Michaels or JoAnnes craft store they will have concentrated scents in their candle departments!

Pair this gift subscription with a natural wood cutting board and put their redemption code for their new subscription in the card with this tangible gift.

Boyfriend - My boyfriend travels a lot, and every guy needs a set of cool travel essentials. Get him this  Ralph Lauren Nylon Utility Duffel. And of course you can't go wrong with a Nixon watch...can't order by today? Try any local Surf shop and you'll definitely find one.

Beer of the month gift, best gifts for him

Boyfriend's Parents - You have to show off that you have homemaker skills and what better way than making Homemade Chai Tea. Not only do you seem like a wiser person if you're a tea drinker, your beau's mom will love that you put together this heartfelt gift by hand. Is his dad a lover of craft beers? Keep the subscription gift roll going by giving him a membership to the Beer of the Month club. This gift works really well for a brother, you best guy friends, or your bf too!

Brother - My brother used to make me the best drinks when we lived in Boulder together. Gin and cucumbers were my favorite. These Moscow Mule Tins are great for the bartender brother or your boyfriend's roommates. If your brother is like mine get him an assortment used of books on Amazon, they start at 25 cents so you can get him a whole array of interesting books!

Le Bunny Bleu in the city

I recently received a pair of canvas and leather color block combat boots from Le Bunny Bleu. They're perfect for my new city slicker ways especially in SF when it goes from foggy to sunny in the change of a district. I'm really loving some of their oxfords as well, I never saw myself as an oxford girl but as a new 9-5er I've found myself wanting to class up my day to day looks. Whoever thought 20 would mean perusing stores for furniture and budgeting to pay bills?

And did I mention that Rob my dear boyfriend is now Free People's Heart Throb of the year? I know..I know I'm so lucky. And yes I nominated him for the award haha. Check out his updates on his trip to Poland (he leaves today) on www.forthefreedom.com

The Wolf and Fox

On nearly every post on here I apologize for not being as present as I'd like to be and I discuss my new commitment to my beloved blog. Which I do want to do! I want to post on here more than once a month, and I promise I will. With a photographer boyfriend you'd think this would be possible!

But I'm spending a lot of time at LE TOTE and I'm very happy doing similar things that I do for this blog, for them. Plus styling lookbooks and photoshoots isn't so bad :)

Here are a few photos from a project I was involved with this summer. I was asked to join a site called Dahlia Wolf, a site where you create inspiration "pins" and they design clothes based off of your inspirations. Then if yours gets picked, you get 5% of each sale of the item. It's amazing!

So this kimono, called the Stone Fox Kimono, was created based off of my inspirations, and it sure is sexy and sly.

Take a look at Dahlia Wolf's site and join in on the fun. Their concept is quite infatuating and they have some of the best bloggers joining in on the fun. It all seems so personal!

Lust List Saturday

My problem is, if I don't go to work literally everyday (today I promised I would do some work from home even though it's Saturday) I spend way too much money. Tailored silk patterned shorts for $5, why not? Cat eye shades, hell ring em up! But when I do go to work, part of my job is to trend spot, which means I basically just build a list of a ton of stuff that I want that is way out of my budget.

For example: gorgeous military trenches are my thing right now. Why you ask? Trench coats are pretty timeless and Cady Heron wore camo pants so we all wore camo pants (reference to the camo jacket trend, so grunge right now). BUT military trenches are different, they are structured and add the touch of high fashion that I have been digging lately. Perhaps my move to SF has changed me or maybe NYFW inspired me. So now I'm turning to the creme dela creme (top shelf ya know) to find items that are different but in the best way possible. Okay but enough with my references to mean girls and TI.

The point is these coats are on my mind and I f*ckin love em.

Lost and Found

Let me begin by apologizing for my absence to my massive amount of readers* I have been living in the flurry of a new city. The biggest one I've lived in yet! On August 4th I departed on the biggest risk of my lifetime, a journey to San Francisco in a car that only had my dearest possessions, my clothes. I had no idea where I was going or what this new future would hold. But I did know I had a place to live in for free for three weeks while I dog sat two terriers. I found this opportunity on craigslist and after a skype interview I found out a week before my departure that they chose me to watch their dogs and live in their penthouse apartment for nearly a month. My thought was; "If things don't work out I'll use my savings to buy a flight back to Florida." My mom's thoughts were, "You're young enough to crash and burn so go see what happens."

After a four day long road trip from Colorado to SF, I braced myself for what some would call the real world. I spent my two days in Santa Barbara drinking wine from local wineries and eating home grown peaches. I was happy and ready for what the city had to offer. What I found out was; you can find a job in the blink of an eye but good luck finding somewhere to live.

Within my first two weeks of living in San Francisco I had an interview nearly every day for various restaurants. But I wasn't sold, I wanted my new life to mean something else. Without a college degree I was massively discouraged, soon to be homeless, and running out of time. I started looking on Angel List and applying to every internship I could find. I found one at a fashion start up called LE TOTE and I've been happily busy ever since. I even found a place to live in!

So now that things have settled down, I can get back to what I'm good at. Buying, styling, and wearing clothes. And being the bossy creative girl I am. Trust me the spit and vinegar is still in full force.

Here are a few photos from my man forthefreedom of my birthday look. I'll be posting more of my photography from the road trip soon!

*Disclaimer: This is pure and utter sarcasm because I know I don't have any readers.

Blushing over BHLDN

I've never been one to ooh and ahh over wedding stuff. Or have a pinterest board that embodies my dream wedding, but there is something about these dresses that make me think otherwise. BHLDN, has me swooning. I don't even need to picture who is standing at the alter waiting for me because all I care about is wearing one of these dresses. Not only are the dresses delicate and affordable, BHLDN provides accessories and decor that win you over. The bridal dresses really take the bad name out of Bridesmaid too. If you swing over to their B inspired blog, you will find yourself in awe over their graphic design and fun hand drawn notes. The ladies behind this company have blown me away. Take a glance and fall in love with the idea of being in love.
