I can't tell you how lucky I am to live in a city like San Francisco. Where every street you walk down has history and charm. Where the trains running downtown are the same trains on the same rails from over 200 years ago. Where there is something new (and old) to be discovered every day! I love being able to find escape within the city and am constantly blown away every time I step foot on the F-Train. It's the most amazing and gorgeous way to experience San Francisco. The train ride is nostalgia at it's finest and better than any crowded cable car the tour books reference.
Just as the cable cars take me back to another era, so does fall fashion. For me, it's one of the most nostalgic times of the year – smells, temps and tastes all bring me back to melancholic feelings of the past. Now in 2015 as 1960’s and 1970’s trends are back in full force, I can’t help but be obsessed with anything out of the past.
So, of course, this series had to be shot on film. I worked with my friend Cliff Englert on this editorial for Urban Outfitters and was incredibly apprehensive to shoot on film. But instead of trying to “model” we decided to tell a story and keep it casual. The photos truly evoke the words I am unable to write – so I am going to let Cliff's Leica speak for itself.
