I find instagram such a great application for one particular reason, travel. I love using the discover & location features to find cool stores, events, and sites to see. I also think it's great because you can look up somewhere you might have gone to visit and see what it's actually like, not just what you may have seen in one really good picture or heard from one recommendation. So while I was searching the Sayulita location tag, I found a girl who posted something about a Macrame class at a store called Evoke The Spirit. I was so sad I missed the class, but I made it my mission the next day to find the store with the beautifully detailed longhorn skulls. Seeing them in person was astonishing, the artists cover the skulls in beeswax and carefully place pieces of thread on the wax and stick it to the skull until the design is formed. It was so gorgeous. I loved Mexico for that reason, beautiful artisan pieces, bright colors, and really gorgeous bohemian inspired items. Sayulita was full of my favorite things – pom poms, tassels, handbags, blankets, rugs, I wanted it all! I loved how this Mara Hoffman Bikini top was perfect to wear as a top with a skirt or shorts and then I could wear bathing suit bottoms underneath. Why? Well sometimes a girl's gotta shop and then get her tan on in the same hour! You've got to multitask when you're operating on a 5 day trip in a town you could spend years in.
