There are a few things I love about San Francisco. First, I love that people give their ideas a chance, chase their dreams, and go for it. I love that this city is full of go-getters. Second, I love that people enjoy collaborating and there are small businesses that want to get together and make magic. Lastly, I love that there are companies like Rail 814 who are taking the concept of a startup incubator and applying it to artists, in this case jewelry designers. Rail 814 is giving young, hungry, and talented designers the chance to see their work come to life, which is often something that scares artists. It's really hard to make yourself vulnerable, put your work out there, and run a business on your own.
Rail 814 is making it possible for artists to have their own business, it's amazing! So of course I had to collaborate with them on the latest lookbook for their GemRock collection designed by Yolanda Chiu. The Collection was designed to reflect attributes of modern women– strong, confident, radiant, and unique. Yolanda also incorporated many facets in her designs to create an edgy and polished feel.
