Not that wearing a lace-up bodysuit makes sense in below freezing temps, I still had fun layering this piece as a thermal under my piles of sweaters in Tahoe. Plus I love that this bodysuit from Azalea is super comfy, I would wear it all of the time if I could! I even wore it in bed while I cozied up with some coffee at the hotel and watched tv with the fireplace on. It was delightful. P.S. Sorry these posts are short and sweet – life is super crazy busy right now, regularly scheduled programming will be back soon! Trying to catch up and still give you all some fun content!

There is something about snow that will always make me feel at home. Cold. But at home. Being born in Colorado, I swear it's in my blood to be obsessed with crisp mountain air and snowfall. Taking a trip up to Tahoe just made me miss living in Colorado even more. After moving to San Francisco after college, I always regretted not going on more adventures during my time at college in Boulder, Colorado. We definitely hiked, enjoyed some great times at cabins in Breckenridge and Aspen, even summer trips to Vail. But I wish I would have spent more time exploring the woods. Luckily with Tahoe pretty much in our backyards, I can continue to live out my snowy dreams. Next I just need a wolf to accompany me!

Our trip to Garmisch was so gorgeous I can’t even begin to describe it to you. As a love of the mountains I walked out to the front porch of our hotel room and melted when I saw our view. Our adorable hotel with a-line ceilings wasn’t only charming, it was accompanied by a breathtaking view of the German alps. I had to go to the top. So immediately we got on the train and headed all the way up to the Zugspitze, the highest summit in Germany. (Yes you can take a train all the way up, it’s so cool!) I thought living in Colorado treated me to years of beautiful mountain views and take-your-breath-away moments, but stepping out of the chairlift and seeing this view had me floored. I couldn’t stop looking, I couldn’t soak it all in, I wanted to just stare at it forever. I hadn’t even left and I was planning a trip back. After all of our travels through Innsbruck and Munich, my favorite memory was still that view of the alps and sledding faster than my 5-year-old self could have ever dreamed. It was worth every dollar renting sleds and getting to the top of that mountain, I will never forget how beautiful it was.
There were many other memories I look back at with a warm heart, like drinking gluhwein and collecting as many mugs at the Christmas markets as we could, or roaming the town and looking at architecture. I loved seeing the intricate churches and lusting over window displays and shopping for things I didn’t have any room in my suitcase for. I loved discovering Gasoline Alley and dying to come back to Munich with my father so I could show him the vintage motorcycles, antiques, and WW2 gear in the store.
I also loved the culture and how nice everyone was. They were welcoming and funny. But boy did they drink. One night Rob and I ended up in a tiny bar with enough room for roughly ten people. We went in with the intentions of drinking one beer and ended up making friends with locals, playing drinking games, and drinking ourselves under the table. A morning of regret that was totally worth the memories. In Munich, we made friends with our waiter who was also into house music and told us about a new club called the Bahnwaerter Thiel. After some searching we found it in a field behind a gate, you walk back through the dirt and mud to find what looks like an old abandoned carnival or circus camp. There’s a big red tent and an old train car and you walk through the train car to enter the club. Inside there is an old cable car hanging from the ceiling, a group of young kids are drinking beer inside. I looked around in awe at the carnival striped bar and was blown away by the whole scenario we were in. Especially because we took a 5 minute subway ride to get there and could walk back to the middle of town and be in our hotel in 20 minutes. Plus, it was all locals so we felt excited to be let in on this little secret. OH HOW AMAZING EUROPE CAN BE!
Finally my favorite memory was hiking The Gorge. Even though it was raining the beauty astounded me and I couldn’t believe more people weren’t there. I think no matter where you are in Germany, if you have the time you should make it here. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen apart from the Alps. And because it’s also in Garmisch you can go up to the Zugspitze and see the gorge in 2 days! I really really really suggest you go!

There is one movie I love more than any other. Wait, well actually maybe not more than the Grand Budapest Hotel or Almost Famous. But almost more than any other movie. Can you guess which one? Yup, Dazed and Confused. The 70's style, Wooderson, my dreams of living in that era, I loved it all. What sealed the deal for my affection of this film was finding this speech, where Matthew McConaughey talks about how he got the role of Wooderson and his most famous lines, "Alright, alright, alright." Watch the video, it will definitely inspire you to go with the flow, be in the moment, and own it. No matter the scenario. Oh, and love the movie Dazed and Confused even more. Here's to hoping we can be at the right bar, at the right time one day!

Matching separates are the new maxi dress. Well at least for me. It's the one look I feel like I can just throw on and not have to think about it, because it's already made to match! Plus the ability to mix the set with other pieces makes it a very versatile look that I am truly obsessed with. Plus this dress and these pants (not sold together, nor do I think they were made to actually be a matching set) are an extra 60% off from French Connection. Yup, the entire sale section is an extra 60% off + free shipping, I dare you not to look.

I have been lusting over this set for an eternity so when Lenni had a boxing day sale, I went crazy. Not only did I want products for styling shoots, but I wanted it all for myself too. Oh boy, when it arrived was I happy. I knew this look was crazy, but wore it to work anyways. Why can't my office be my Coachella stomping grounds too? My love for everything psychedelic is encapsulated by this outfit. It's my inner Jimi Hendrix coming out to play. I want polyester blouses and velvet galore. I want rock and roll. I want to sit in a haze filled room and listen to music, forgetting everything that matters. A girl can dream.
